Photography against Starving

Against Anorexia. Anna focuses on portrait photography. Certainly, you've already noticed. This style has a lot to do with the human, his expression, character and also the shape. The models of Anna aren't the "usual" models. Skinny girls like those we see in media are not in front of her camera. That's not because she has an average body shape. Oh, no! Most of her models are slim, that's a matter of fact, but the important thing about them is: they are healthy. None of them suffers from Anroexia Nervosa or just a too low weight. If they are really slim like little Amily, they eat still healthy. So it is no wonder that Anna made a photo project vivid: "Photography against starving". This idea came into her mind in October 2009. The first attempts to deal with this serious topic were a row of selfportraits. This was a full success. When publishing to DeviantArt many young people agreed and commented on what Anna was saying to them. They talked seriously . One said: "This is so true, it's so sad that they think being anorexic is attractive when it couldn't be farther from the truth." and another	admitted that: "[...] it's really scary to think about." The pun Hibs or Ribs? was meant to be the guide-line for the shoot. Below you can see one of the best photos belonging to the series. "The most beautiful thing about her"	With this statement Anna entitles the photo. She completes the question: "What's the most beautiful thing about her? The ribs or her face?" The answer is up to the viewer and the message is explicit. Society of today forgets about the most important body part: the face - mirror of one's soul. However, till now there wasn't a shoot like this again. But Anna keeps on with her idea that "skinny is ugly", like she says. She is an active member of DeviantArt where she opened the group #AgainstAnorexia - Back to Beauty. There, other members are able to utter their opinion about this topic. Moreover, you can browse through a collection of many artistic works dealing with the issue. "I don't suffer from it, but one of my aunts does." This is the reason why Anna knows perfectly how patients of Anorexia behave, how they became skinnier and skinnier and how they deny that they are ill. She wants to open eyes.
